Next Monday, August 31st, I will be officially returning to teaching Kindermusik. This fall I will be teaching 2 classes in my friend Ursula Purcell's Norman studio. I will be teaching the "big kids" (5-7 year olds) in the Young Child 1 and Young Child 3 classes. I'm really looking forward to getting to know these families and sharing music with them. I'm very thankful for this opportunity to teach again. I think it's going to be a great semester. We'll be learning to play the glockenspiel and the dulcimer!

Tomorrow I will teach my first Kindermusik class since Weston went to heaven. I am filling in for another teacher, just "testing the waters" you might say.
I taught Kindermusik classes before Weston was born, but that's been more than two years ago now. Weston came to many, many classes as my number one helper and favorite student. It will not be the same without him, and the memories will be both sweet and incredibly hard. I hope that this will be a part of the slow healing and that I will be able to experience again some of the joy of music that we shared together. What wonderful times we had together playing and singing and meeting new friends.
Maybe this will be the beginning of returning to the music that I taught him to love.
