Last week, our amazing little boy went to be with Jesus.  It is still nearly impossible to believe, but miraculously it has not shaken our faith.  We know without a doubt that God loves us, that God loves you, and especially that God loves Weston. 

I am not teaching right now.  I love teaching Kindermusik, and Weston loved coming to Kindermusik.  I hope one day to return to it, but right now it's too early to do anything.  If you are looking for Kindermusik classes, please contact my dear friend, Ursula Purcell.

Ursula has graciously invited all my Kindermusik families to join her for the rest of the semester, without any cost.  I hope that you will all take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.  Ursula is a great teacher and a very compassionate person.  I think that this could be a very healing, encouraging time for you and your child.  I hope you will participate.  Kindermusik has always given such joy to Weston and me.

This book goes right along with several of our Our Time Kindermusik activities this semester.  It features a little boy and his dad using all kinds of tools all around the house.  Read the book, and then follow it with the rhyme/bounce "A House for Me," or listening to the hammer and saw sounds. 

This semester's Kindermusik Our Time unit, Milk and Cookies, has inspired Weston and me to make some cookies of our own.  He loves to "measure and pour" and "stir it up", just like in the Cookies book.  These are some pictures of Weston cooking with Nanny this summer making Chocolate Chip cookies.  This week he and I made some No Bake Oat Fudge Cookies, which we thoroughly enjoyed eating too! 

Baking with a toddler is definitely a different process, but I encourage you to give it a try.  We have a lot of fun.  The key is keeping it simple and quick!  There is so much to be learned from a simple cooking project-- math skills, eye-hand coordination, and cooperation to name a few.  Plus, you get to eat the results!  Learning doesn't get any better than that.

I hope everyone will have a great time this week exploring their new Kindermusik "At Home" materials-- at home!  There is so much fun and learning that can take place when you and your family enjoy these musical instruments, books, CDs and games together.  You'll even find that as you listen to the music and do musical activities at home more, your child will become more comfortable with participating in class.  Remember, you are your child's first and best teacher.  Have fun!

Weston and I went to Porter, OK, today and bought some fresh peaches right at the orchard where they were grown.  They were delicious.  We're hoping to make a pie, but as you can see Weston also enjoys them whole!  He loved getting to ride in the wagon and helping himself to his choice of the peaches.  This is what summer is all about!  For directions and information about Livesay Orchards click HERE.
